I began sewing and dressmaking as a child, taught by my mother. She also taught me to knit, and began embroidering and customizing vintage clothing while at school. At university I became involved in theatrical costuming, and I have worked as a maker, wardrobe supervisor and designer on professional theatre productions. Over the years I have explored dressmaking, embellishment, pattern drafting, knitting, jewellery making, and even lamp making!
After working in the theatre, and then owning a business, in 2010 I decided to embark on a year of study to develop my skills and explore my love of sewing and design. I headed first to India, where I studied fashion design, textile design, and embroidery at LeMarc Institute of Art in Mumbai. I then came to London and attended the London College of Fashion, where I studied fashion design, draping, corsetry, and fashion illustration.
Now happily settled in London, I am continually inspired by the incredible design, art, performance and spectacle all around me!
